since this was a new build what version of the bios should I be using, should I update the default version?

I use the latest 1406, works best for me!

For the P5Q Pro, I would probably use one of Ket's modded BIOSes.

They don't make much difference on the higher end boards, but the default Pro BIOS has a notably inferior memory table to the one that Ket has taken from the Premium.

I am using the P5Q Pro with my Intel core 2 Duo Wolfdale E7400. So far it's overclocked to 3.62GHz. I may try going for 3.7GHz or 3.8GHz, but other than that, I like this board really well.

I never did upgrade the BIOS..

I have the P5Q-e with KETS modded 1406 bios very good bios better than reg 1406 I highly suggest his modded bios.

anyone else having trouble running 1200mhz ram on the P5Q-E/Deluxe?
My ram is actually official supported, but I cant get it stable at 1200mhz:/ what the hell is wrong?

Do you have the RAM voltage matching what the RAM is rated for?
