Hi, I have s short question.
__________________I have a regular P5Q and my motherboard temp regularly goes to 45-46°C. No big OC, just a FSB of 290 and VCore of 1.31 and that's all. Everythings been stable so far but I'm still worried, the NB cooler gets really hot, I'd guess in the 60-65°C area (heatsink). And the sink is a lot cooler on the edges than in the center where the radiating heat from the 4850 prevents effective heat dissipiation. Airflow is generally ok but a small part is slightly obstructed by the dual slot GPU and man, the 4850 gets really hot under load so it doesn't really help the situation. Now, I know my old Intel mobo (DG965WH) regularly went to over 75°C ICH even when idle so it might not be a problem but I'm not so sure about this one. I mean, I'm driving it at ~1150 FSB when it's officially rated for 1600 so I should have a lot of headway heatwise, right? Am I still on the safe side or should I try and do something? Only thing I'd know is somehow wrenching an additional fan into the case blowing directly at the board but that's it.

hi ,i think your temps are a bit on the high side, my mb temp is around 34c average if it goes up i want to know why, my graphics card maxis at 70c and processor both cores idle at 43c and under load 53c but even 43c is still high for me but thats with a stock h/s and fan, what i did because my sb was running hot was glue a small fan onto the plastic cover on my ati and seems to do a good job you could try something like that ,if you ever want to sell it just pull the fan off, heres a pic.

I believe my board died, my computer was freezing so I deduced it down to the psu, I unplugged it from the wall and when I plugged it back in gave off a weird electrical sound. Then it will not turn on, the SB light is on, the psu works with a paper clip bypass, tried it in another case with another psu no luck, reset CMOS, removed battery etc. Is my board dead?

I have the P5Q-E and I have it at 3.4GHz. The only thing I have done to it was change the FSB to 333, so far.

Did anyone's rear audio ports go bust on their P5Q?
