Recently bought a P5Q-E card for my Q6600 in oveclock (2.4 @ 3.6Ghz) and I have a doubt: The windows (7) shows my clock as 3.6Ghz, but some programs like speedfan, coretemp and realtemp indicates a value of clock floating, as the value depends on the load of applications running on time. As the bios this board has several options and I just move in was sure to be doing, comes the question: What option do I have to change to make when working on the processor clock that fixed the maximum overclock (9x400 in my case)? Or what I want does not make sense?

You need to disable C1E, EIST and themal control off in the CPU features part of the bios

It won't harm anything. Thermal Control, EIST and C1E basically reduce the CPU multiplier when not at load to reduce voltage and temperature of the CPU. When OC'ing it is a good idea to disable those features as you don't want the multiplier switching because stock voltages have been changed.

Yesterday I finally get a stable overclock. Set the Vcore to 1.4V (approximately vdrop = 0.02v) on Q6600 with temperatures around 70 to 72 degrees. How do think it is a good score?
PS: I had to change the cooler of the Coolermaster Hyper TX2 of adding another 92mm to improve the flow of air and reduce the temperature (36 in stock, 72 full load).

So I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and decided not to install any of the ASUS utilities except for Express Gate. I'm having some BIOS issues and some freezes.
Any suggestions?
