Thanks in advance.

Mmmmm I would like to see screenshots of all your bios settings.

4.5Ghz from a Q9550 on air?

I can get mine to boot to windows and I can run programs at 487 FSB but it locks up when running Prime95. Oh and when running prime 95 the max temp I saw was 64C on 1 core, the others like 2-3 degrees lower but it still would lock up. Sometimes after 10 mins. I gave the NB a voltage up to 1.4 and the vcore up to 1.36v and it was reading 1.34 something in windows.

I have a P5Q Deluxe and the same CPU cooler as you. I seem to have it stable at 480Mhz FSB though. With NB at 1.34 and vcore 1.33 something and it reads 1.312 in windows.

OK so I finally got around to upgrading my BIOS to 2101 and so far, so good but I haven't tried sleep mode yet.

Also, I bought 4GB of Corsair XMS2 RAM and threw that in. I left 2 GB of my other XMS2 RAM in there so now I'm up to 6 GB total (4+2).

Will this present a problem when I'm OCing?

I'm pretty much ready to OC now that everything is stable.

I was using the stock Intel cooler for a while because the stupid plastic pins on my Scythe Ninja broke so I had to get new ones.

I'm at 26C in the summer which is great.

Hi guys...

Me old Abit is failing on me (boots and shuts down several times before holding boot and it's on safe mode everytime! anyone know what's this?) and I'm considering getting a P5Q...

I have a G0 Q6600 and used to OC to 3.0ghz.

Gskill memory, anyway it's all in my sig.

Any weird problems I should know about?
Perhaps with the X-Fi card?!

Thanks a lot!

Hello All...

I have been OC'ing for about 10 years...Was a simple ClockGen user back on my P4 1.8 a while ago...

I just purchased a P5QC. Not sure what all the flavors are, but I really do like it. Its running a Core 2 Duo Quad (Q8400) and some Dominatror DDR2 1066 ram...

Its running a simple/basic OC to 3.7 and the loads are 51 C max and idle is around 33 C.
I also have it watercooled withh a modded tank and a dual fans on the input and exhaust side..And a few fans pulling air in the front..

Without me pestering anyone, I havent bumped any NB, SB and cpu voltages..I imagine this could get to 4.0 ghz, but I want to be smart and controlled. I have a small notebook that I keep for writing my settings down. As what is working, and what changes I made and what results I have..

Would I be able to post my screen shot of my CPUZ screen and maybe my BIOS settings, so some of you could steer me in the right way as to what to play with..

I also was thinking of upgrading the ram to DDR3 1600 2x 2GB sticks

I have 2 1 GB sticks 1066 DDr2

I also manually added the Mem sticks timing 5-5-5-15

And I did bump up the DRAM voltage to 2.18

So, there is my little project..

Peace and I simply am amazed at some of your speeds/clockings.

I think the settings on my P5Q-E leave a bit to be desired, but eh. They work well enough for me. I'll grab some pictures when I finish work.

The stock cooling on the NB really isn't that bad. If you can secure a 40mm fan on there I would try bumping the NB voltage to about 1.34-1.36 and see if you can get your performance level down. I was able to hit 475MHz FSB with a tRD (performance level) of 8 at 1.36v on the NB. It helped to drastically reduce latency timings on the board.

With those settings and G.Skill PI RAM running at 1142MHz I could hit almost 11000MB/s for read, 10500MB/s write and 9500MHz copy on the Everest memory benchmark. The board does take some tweaking but it was a great board for me. Sometimes wish I still had it...
