Thanks will do, allready downloaded the latest modded bios's from Xtreme.
Do you know of the measure points for voltages on this board by chance?

Hi,
I very strange problem with Asus P5Q. I have Raid 0 (2x WD 320 GB SATA), 1 DVD SATA and 1 CDRW PATA. When I set SATA to RAID and disable Marvell IDE, I can’t boot from SATA DVD (that is first device to boot from). It seems to spin up DVD when It should but nothing else. When I enable Marvell IDE, set first boot device to PATA CDRW and (strange here) press ANY KEY (let say M letter key , no matter what key it will be) on POST screen its boots from PATA CDRW. It allowed me to install XP from PATA CDRW on RAID0 and it works well - BUT I have to press ANY KEY on POST screen each time to make boot from RAID or CDRW possible. If I disable Marvell IDE (having installed XP on RAID) it says that there is no system Installed and not even try to boot from RAID unless… I enter BIOS setup and close it without changing anything… after that it boots from RAID… That’s crazy… does anybody knows what to do? I know already what the problem was. I had another RAID build on Sli 0680 card. This Marvell IDE chip does not like other RAID controllers… In fact this motherboard in general does not like a lot of devices…
I had to get rid of the controller… Thank You anyway. |

The first 2 sata ports do not work for RAID. They do not work at all unless Asus Drive Xpert is enabled in BIOS.

Thanks for the links, will probably need to test voltage when I get the board and get it setup.

From what I've seen most p5Q board overvolt about the same as most others.
__________________I measured all of my voltages, on both my P5Q-Ds, and they were the same. They also match up pretty well with various P5Q Pros, Es, and other Deluxes that have been measured at Xtremesystems, as well as the one Hardware Canucks tested. So if you can't reach one or two measure points, you can use other peoples results as a fairly accurate guide.
