The only 2 that matters are C1E, which change multiplier and so save some power and your $ at the end of month, and speedstep.
So, yes, this is fine.

No.

The default voltage for the P45 is 1.1v, the Intel stated absolute maximum is 1.21v.

While I would not even aproach the absolute maximums of Intels CPUs, I have zero compunctions about going way beyond them for 24/7 use with Intels chipsets.

Intel rates these things for 103C, as they are often intened to run continuously in cramped, hot, dusty, situations, with a tiny craptastic passive heatsink, for years.

Even in my high ambients, with the high voltages I give it, I doubt my NB ever gets past 53C. At 53C, an IC will often last 25-35 times as long as one at 103C. So, even if an additional two-tenths of a volt reduce lifespan by a factor of 10 or 20, chances are the chipset will still last at least a few years, probably longer, with good cooling.

Well I cant do it with this board. No matter what I change in the bios I cant get it to boot into windows above 500fsb. Its acting like Im not locking the pci frequency like on the older socket 939 asus boars.

I can boot into bios and run memtest up to about 550fsb which is the limit of my current ram roughly but once it gets to the load bar on either my windows install or the windows install disc it will bluescreen out.

Any ideas from you guys.

i have P5QL-E no problems on newest bios, e8500 at 3.8ghz 1.275v, 1600fsb mem at 800mhz. loving it so far besides the power location, and the hissing over my speakers. the hissing i fixed by unplugging the sys speaker.

How far is it safe to push the NB and FSB Termination voltages?

For 24/7 is "great" to have settings in yellow.But...Even high voltage won't burn your mb if you have great airflow.

Just oc, set voltages so its stable and check nb and sb hst if its hot.If not, you have nothing to worry about

Above 1.34 the NB heatsink was too hot to touch after touching it for more than 3 seconds, any ideas?

It's kinda hard to rig a fan onto it since my huge Xigamatek is over it, unless I change it's orientation but that may negatively affect CPU temps.

Any ideas on how to improve NB cooling on the Asus P5Q motherboard?
