Hey all, I just though I'd start a thread about the popular Asus P5Q series motherboards.
__________________I've got the standard Asus P5Q motherboard and I am in love with it. I was able to to get a mild overclock up to 3.6GHz on stock volts with my E8400 C0. It also read my G.Skill 2X1GB DDR2 800 5-5-5-15 perfectly on first boot and I've run into no compatibility problems with it. I've got a Xigmatek HDT-1283 CPU Cooler, an ATI 4850 and a SATA hard drive running on the board as well with no problems. I also love the designs of the heatsinks on the North Bridge and South Bridge. The green power LED is also very useful as it let's you know when the motherboard is powered so that you remember to turn of the power when you are going to change or upgrade something. My only complaint is the placement of the 24-Pin motherboard power connector, I wish it were on the edge instead of on the middle of the board.

P5Q Bios v1406
472mhz * 8.5 = 4.012ghz DDR2 at 945mhz 4-4-4-14 FSB Strap 400mhz I love my board, the 24pin power connector position doesn't bother me anymore, the only time it seemed weird was during installation

FSB strap is the speed the NB communicates with the memory and CPU I belive. So the faster the better, but changing the FSB strap affects memory speeds.

Temps are good, although the ambient temp in my house can vary 10c+/- throughout the day.

I just discovered that Ai Nap is a great feature. It basically puts your PC into a very low power state and shuts off unnecessary components to reduce power usage and heat. The cool part is that if your are downloading something you can still put it into Ai Nap mode without the download being interrupted!
