Which board is better. A review using L2N claimed DFI clocked up to 600FSB
and i heard the gigabyte can clock up to that too. Which board is better, and DFI is the cheaper option out there... im short of money. thanks!

They're both pretty good, just personal preference. I would go with the DFI one, I'm currently using one (amd but still) and its awesome, I've also used their p35 t2rs and compared to my p35 ds3r it owned it completely.

I'm a DFI guy and own the little brother, the DK P35. It does pretty well for itself, I think that the P45 would be a great board. Not to completely switch veins, but Biostar makes an excellent P45 board as well, also in the 600FSB range.

If you aren't that experienced with OCing get the Gigabyte, if you are pretty experienced get the DFI. The DFI boards have a more complicated BIOS, it is great for tweaking the OC a lot but at the same time it isn't good for people who aren't familiar with OCing.

You can't go wrong with either. Personally, I like DFI but currently run a Biostar TP45HP. I've worked with DFI's, Gigabytes P35's, and Biostar. Any P45 chipset mobo will clock high.
All your preference. You'd be happy with any of them.

I don't have heaps of overclocking experience either... Just put the overclocking options in easy and follow the guides...
DFI vote from me!

You say your short of cash then take a look at it's little brother the Biostar TP45 HP basically the same board layout but with no RAID and less elaborate cooling, but that doesn't stop it hitting 600FSB on air, just one thing to note, the TP45 HP loves Wolfdales but not Quads, it's dirt cheap, $109 on Newegg, or approx £80 GBP from Scan in the UK. http://i4memory.com/f55/biostar-tpow...hz-e8500-7107/ http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mai...ar-tp45hp.html Last edited by Lemmy : 11-09-08 at 03:03 PM |
