Hi!
__________________I have been looking all over the internet and I read so much information and posts around this site. I'm looking for overclock my E2200, I read around and it seems this have a high level of OC? My current motherboard is ECS - 945GCT-M/1333 I've also researched this motherboard and guess it's a dud to OC anything. It's a custom computer (but I didn't build or buy the parts) I'm at least wanting 3.0Ghz out of it. I think I seen it's easy to reach? I forget, but I think it's on this forum? someone taking the E2200 past 3.5Ghz? Is it possible to Flash another Bios so I can Overclock at all? I'm about to build my own computer so I don't want to pour money into this buying a new motherboard. A new / referb motherboard around $50 or so I might be able to do. Thanks for looking and hopefully I can get some help!

Look around for a used/refurb P35 chipset mobo. They're just right for the 2xx0 CPU's and shouldn't cost much. The one in my sig was like $80 new, and I bought it a year ago.
Edit: The links in my sig with the 2160 @ 3.3Ghz...that OC was done on the Gigabyte board in my sig.

Question, I already have but can I go on newegg and search "P35" and choose any of the "P35" mobos on the list? I'll look around newegg, geeks.com and craigslist so if there is anything good. and that is crazy, you made a 1.8 into a 3.3? how high could I get E2200 (2.2)? all you need it proper cooling right? I checked out 3 just now I was interested in, this one looks great, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131275 Will that do the trick?

Any decent P35 or higher motherboard would do the trick, you should be able to get 3Ghz easily. All E2xxx CPUs overclock pretty much the same, they usually max out at ~3.4-3.6Ghz. The one on your link would do just fine. Heck even my $50 motherboard pushed it to 3Ghz D

Thanks for the replies and help.
__________________That ASUS P5Q for $70 or so is better then $100 I found, ahaha, And Ben, the ASUS P5Q you linked, it says "Memory Standard" is 1200? Can I still use 800 or 1066 Mhz ram? that's what that means right? I've actually never seen "1200" before, just 800-1066 most. thanks!

Makes more then less sense, math isn't my strongest subject :P
__________________I've not really every been into overclocking I did a bit on an older AMD Semp, and AGP ATI 9600 Pro card. Now getting all the technical of the computer parts and the technical of overclocking is sort of a 'big' mix. well guess I'll try to find one of those P35's cheaper then egg has it, I'll check geeks too, I've bought an "open box" from them before only thing I don't like is you don't get the I/O panel for the back.. Thanks for even more replies and great help, feel free to post more opinions and parts.

yeah just get any mobo that has a fully featured bios. i have a e2200 and got it to 3GHz easy as pie on stock cooling. just takes a fsb bump and a little extra volts. with a decent cooler you could prob get at high as 3.6 to 3.8 depending on what mobo you do get.
