Exclamation GA-EP45T -UD3P or DS3R?

Need to knwo the real differences between these motherboards

Both DDR3 and support the memory that I have.

Will be running E8*00 or Q9550 and Lookign for on Both minimum OC of 3.6ghz
Stability and Low Wattage are Key for me. So if I can get an Optimal OC with Stock votlage on either that will also be happy for me.

Will be using 4 x 1gb 1600mhz Transcend DDR3 Sticks.

Cooling Device will be the Noctua U12P (i believe was the one)

Corsair 750 watt HX PSU

I will stick with my Current GPU for a while till I decide maybe on something newer.

I just need to know major dif between the UD3P and DS3R DDR3 versions.
need to know General FSB Expenctancies, Vdroop issues and any BIO's junk that someone should know about =)

Thank you.

The UD3P is the better board in my eyes. The king of intel overclocking. Get that

Should go for UD3P. It is more mature and stable. I used 3 to build rigs for others. They work great. Newegg has a deal. With promo code, it is around $109, I think.

The UD3P will do 500 FSB with a Q9550, the DS3R will not. The differences with duals is even more pronounced. The UD3P can do close to 600 FSB with duals while again the DS3R struggles to hit 500 FSB with a dual.

Its a relatively easy choice.

The UD stands for Ultra Durable. It uses an extara layer of copper in the PCB to add strength and it also helps keep NB temps down. I am getting the DDR2 version of the UD3P. I was going to get the DDR3, but since I would have to buy the RAM, wel....

Other than that, I am not sure. I have yet to use the UD3P or a DS3R (had a P35 DS3L) I do know that there is a large trhead on the UD3P and it has an excellent reputation.

UD3P loves 45nm core 2 quad processors, I can almost guarantee than you should hit 4000mhz.

Yes, created by yours truly

I've now tested the board with:

E8600 604 FSB
E8500 E0 588 FSB
Q9550 E0 500 FSB
Q9550 C1 490 FSB
Q9650 504 FSB
QX9650 500 FSB

The board is an absolute steal and is running for about $110 at newegg (DDR2 version at least)

I hope it does as well with 65nm's too

Q6600 at 3600mhz easily, limited by temps or I would have much more room. Have booted in at 3800 and was passing prime fine but temps got high on mu tuniq. Also tested an e5200 on this board 3750mhz with 1.35 vcore.

yah not many people have tested the DDR3 board - though it looks liek I will go with the DDR3 UD3P so i can use this lovely DDR3 Ram that I have =)

I am fairly certain that I will only grab an E8400 or E8500
unless I find extra money for a Q9550 =)

Am thinking though iwould rather spend the extra money on a possibly newer GPU.
