I am in the process of overclocking my 2.6c, and its at 3.3 ghz right now, I had the vcore set at 1.625 in bios, and I looked on speedfan and saw 1.79!
I immediately checked cpu-z and it wasnt far from it. I remembered that before it had raised the vcore at idle and went down to where I had it set in bios under load, but it never got down to 1.625. Here are idle(top) and load (bottom) of cpu z and speed fan with bios set at 1.625 ![]() I have backed it down to 1.6 and it goes between 1.6 and 1.584 under load. It seems to overvolt like this when I set it at anything over 1.6v The voltages read the same in any software and in bios. Bios flash fixable or is this serious?

My MSI did this...probably nothing you can do.
I had an 865PE...I screwed a Northwood's overclocking potential up by setting it to 1.61, set it to 1.7v. Locked up whenever I overclocked it.

This is a totally normal behavior, this is called vdroop. as the load increases on the cpu the vcore drops in order to protect the cpu.

Isnt vdroop when it drops voltage?
I'm saying this thing increases the volotage through the roof! If I set it at 1.625, its at 1.665 under load, what the heck is that about? Should I continue ocing it, and are the non load voltage just as harmful to the northwood?

Yeah, I know it drops the voltage under load, but why is it higher than what I set it at?

I have no clue, it most have something to do with the way the bios is programmed.

You think that if I update the bios it may fix it?
