Default EVGA rma question.

My motherboard has been acting funny lately. Getting the occasional bsod and lockups. Tested everything in another pc and it all checks out which leaves the motherboard as the culprit. I went to Evga and started an rma. Alas I couldnt find the receipt and wrote Evga saying no problem as it is about upgrade time. Well I just got an email from Evga saying the rma has been approved. Does that mean they are not worried about the receipt now?

No, you will still need the reciept. The RMA approval is based on the assumption that you have it. You either need to upload it to the registration website, or include it in the box with the returned card.

Check with the place you bought it. If you bought it online, they often keep record of transactions for a year or two.

I just had a board RMA'd and they didn't ask about my receipt at all. I did have it but they didn't seem to care either way.

I think you'll be fine.

You don't need a receipt. Your motherboard is either being fixed or you'll be getting a refurbished one. Either way, that's EVGA's top-notch quality RMA service you are getting.

Were you issued an RMA ID, or an RMA #?
There is difference, the invoice is not requested until they send you the actual RMA #.
In you profile under registered products, there should be an update indicating the next action required.

When they sent me the RMA id# they asked for a receipt. I wrote stating I didnt have one. Thats when I got the actual RMA #. I checked and this is the next step.
Next Step: Return Defective Product to EVGA

A little update.
Last night I got to thinking about when my pc started screwing up. I then realized it started happening when I connected a card reader. I disconnected the card reader and my pc has been running 2xsmp and 1xgpu every since. I dont see how the card reader could cause the bsods I was getting but it hasnt did it since and it was to the point where if I opened anything it would blue screen.
