Question is about memory that is set with the XMP , memory profile that automatically runs the memory at a determined spec.
I will be using memory that was designed for Dual Channel use at 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 1.8v What I want to know is if it is possible to just turn this XMP feature off, so that I may run the 4 x 1 GB DDR3 1600mhz ram kit that I have (free) at a lower Voltage and change all the setting individually much like I normally would have done with any other computer build. if this is not advisable then Of course I would find a home for my Ram kit and get a proper 6gb tri Channel kit But I would Like to just Use this ram as it was free.

Can you manually raise the timings so you can lower the voltage?

I would have to hope so, since it looks like you did the same thing with you Dual Channel DDR3 kit.
I don't have the equipment yet, so I am just looking for information on how easy and of course if possible.

Timings really don't make a huge difference on x58 chipsets, so don't worry about them too much.

what i am worrying about is turning CMP off, and being able to lower Voltage
