Also, what are your temps like with that TRUE?
I had both real temp and core temp while using prime 95 it was between 70-75C. I guess my temp is good after looking up results of other who had a TRUE and the same clock speed. I really want to get 3.8 as a stable OC so i can use it 24/7, i really have to tinker with the bios more for more stability at least i dnt get the BSOD just window restarting.

Not fully understanding it, I haven't played with XMP much. I assumed (maybe erroneously) that it wouldn't make any difference since I do my timings manually instead of using SDP. Maybe I'll tinker with it and see if I can get my RAM higher. Thanks for bringing it up.

With my 24/7 settings (IOH voltage at 1.2) my NB runs at 33-34 C in Everest using the supplied waterblock. About the same as my motherboard temps.

I'm running the blacks you linked. They play nice up to about 1720 Mhz with 1.65 v and they can keep nice tight timings throughout, but I haven't been able to get past the C1 bleepity bleeps in post with em much higher than 1740.

I would have gotten the Redlines if they were available at the time I built (and they are only $20 more than I paid for the blacks), but I don't know how well they perform.

Another option (and probably better) would be these.

The xmp feature of my ram has profiles with the different speed. For instance if i use profile 2 it has a setting of 1800 with timing 9 9 9 28. I had that set and it would over volt to 1.85, that was the reason i couldnt overclock any higher that 3.0

If you're thinking of the same review I am the Kingstons were the only 2000's available at the time, were about $450 USD, and were being compared to 1600 RAM (except for some 1866 Dominators). Even so, Crucial Ballistix 1600's came in second for almost as much money as the Kingstons, and the Mushkin 1600's came in 3rd, if I recall correctly.

I haven't researched RAM since, but there are more choices for 2000 RAM now. I'm curious if the G-Skill Perfect Storms can match the Kingstons? I'm not in the market for an upgrade right now myself, but I'm hoping that Patriot or Geil step up to the plate when I do. I like to hop brands for the sake of variety - makes upgrades more fun. I've recently used Kingston, G-skill and Mushkin......and since I have a Corsair PSU.........
