Deuteros, seeing as your info is not very specific at all unfortunately I'll need you to run CPUZ.
After you run it the CPUZ dialog box appears. The first page it'll show you the CPU info. Click the "about" tab. Then click the "validation" button. Then on the top of the page in the "Online Mode" box click submit (you can change the name if you like and enter an email if you want the link sent to you). Then it should open your browser to a page that looks like this. post that link and itll give us all the information we need about your system.

Mainboard errors can occur intermittently. Could be fried capacitors.

Ran the program and here's the link:
__________________http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=568659 The computer decided to start up again after not turning on for an hour. I went into the BIOS and changed the settings to the default "safe" mode or whatever. It's been running fine for about two hours. Yesterday I got it to run for about five hours but it seemed to run a little slower than usual. Today it seems to be running normally. I went ahead and made a current backup of my hard drive in preparation for the worst case.

Ok, according to your CPUz you have an MSI P35 Neo2-FR, your video card is a 3870, and you have an Intel Q6600 core 2 quad CPU.
Ok so now that we've got that out of the way, I'm starting to think that maybe your temps are too high. Download Coretemp (make sure you choose the appropriate version 32 or 64 bit), and run it. Then download the Intel burn test(IBT) stability test tool. Run it, then monitor your temps to see how high they get. You cpu is a B stepping according to CPUz so your max allowable temp is only 62*C. When running the intel burn test if you see the temps get to 62*C shut down IBT. Don't let it go over. And finally, if it does wind up being temps you'll more than likely need a better CPU cooler. This Xigmatek s1283 is an excellent cooler for the money.

Well I couldn't get my computer to come on at all last night so it seems to be completely dead. Would it be safe to say that I need a new motherboard? I was going to try to get the same model I have now, but after looking it doesn't seem like anyone carries it anymore. Am I going to have to reformat my hard drive?
