I will try these settings when i get home
![]() EDIT: Those settings will boot if i bump the ram up to 2.1v, but it will not get into windows, i promptly get a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA bsod. Any ideas?

i'm pretty sure its memory thats given you the bsod
whats your ram speed 800mhz or 1066?? as ram thats rated as 800mhz is at a voltage of 1.88v or near, and most 1066 is 2.2 -2.3v firstly make sure your ram is at the correct voltage .. having too low or high voltage on the ram, will make it bsod also, in experience its mostly the ram that does it. And the reference 0x50 is hardware in this case not wanting to play for whatever reason. secondly try bringing the fsb down 10 - 15 And thirdly just try slackening the timings on the ram slightly eg 5,5,5,15 to 6,6,6,18 and put the timing 42 to 52 and try that... if that fails look into further fsb reduction, changing your ram frequancy in relation to your front side bus eg: 960mhz at 1.1 ratio may be 840mhz at 12.10 ratio which would then allow for more headroom without whipping your ram to much, but you probably already know that .it also helps to write it all down, so when in the bios its easy to flick through settings and whatnot and have a reference when you get a bsod. If these settings are then still giving you hassle then i have another set that give you for the q9550. i will mark what bits go where for what ram you have, 800-1066 and we will start from scratch. also read below... Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM). firstly check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Disabling memory caching of the BIOS might also resolve it.

Although I haven't really pushed this board all that hard, I will when I get full water on it.

Running Memtest atm, pass 9 and no errors. Will leave it running!

It should be easy. That bsod is ram related. Think your ram has psc chips so use only 1.8v-2.0v max. Set your vtt to 1.22v-1.26v range and bump your nb to around 1.34v-1.38v (course adjustment on this mb ) Don't use skews ti'll you reach 470+fsb. Should hold it using .67x both and .64x nb. If you use built in memtest, just loop test 5 10x and boot to windows, use hci memtest to fully test your ram Vcore/Vtt(fsb term) is safe to 1.45v so don't worry bout that![]() cruisant

lol, you read my mind cruisant...
i have just got mine to 3.78 at 470 fsb and with temps of around 45...i'm actually quite impressed with the temps. i cant seem to clock above 430 without the skews, but i might be doing something wrong. i'm going to upload a little vid i put together with test and allsorts...its a bit lame but it shows what i'm up too.

I would be happy with a stable 3.6ghz, but the BSODS keep happening. At school atm, memtest is still running to see if there are any errors.
My ram is 1066mhz, as in sig, and rated for 2.1v. THe closest i can get is 2.08v.

Good luck need to update this thread when I get time sorry guys for delays. I really hate the voltage setting for this board seems they are too little or too much most of the time.

I'm doing my final test on this mb, before i give it to my sis next week. Re applied thermal paste on NB/SB with chiliramic (ceramique) from chill factor
__________________ So far so good, gained about 5c-8c on the nb. 2hr+ into blend 450x8 (didn't compensate for the slight overvoltage) good for 3640Mhz ![]() About the same power draw as a Q9550@4Ghz-4.3Ghz so I said earlier, 3.8Ghz should be very easy to attain on Q9's without frying the vregs (as long as you keep them cool). Cpu gtl .67x,.67x Mch gtl .64x PLL voltage 1.7v (1.6v with x000124 bsod) Cpu/Mch skew Auto Cpu Ampli Auto Pcie 101Mhz DDR Rcomp 5 What I notice is that 65nm quad (pll voltage) and 45nm quad (vtt voltage). It's what keeps them going with a combination of nb voltage+gtl refs. What limit this mb is ram ocin'g and compatiblity. Although they are compatible, they don't oc very far. Rick, for dual core...It's the opposite from quad gtl ref's. They do better at lower settings and cpu/mch skew 200ps/0 or 200ps/100ps Goodluck ![]() cruisant
