Thumbs up Help with Asus P5N73-AM Overclock

Chatting with a guy who has a Asus P5N73-AM and Pentium D 940 CPU.

Here is specs of what I know so far:

Pentium D 940 CPU soon to be E6300 Pentium Dual-Core
Asus P5N73-AM board
2GB stick PNY DDR2-800 1.8v(not sure other specs)
AC Freezer Pro cooler

Not sure of anything else ATM but chatting with him now so any more info I will ask him and he is giving me pics of his BIOS if that will help too.

Thanks in advance and not sure how high he wants to go but any help would be great.

Not familiar with this board myself. I thought if there was anyone out there who had one and overclocked it you could shed some light on this.

Here the thread he made: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...2677_10_0.html

when he overclocks the cpu he must keep the rams at stock.....and raise the cpu voltage to 1.4.7 or 1.4.8 max is 1.5.....and after the cpu is stable at overclock he can try to overclock the rams to....

Hey Forum,
As Rick i cant overclock past 3.5-3.6Ghz line on a Pentium D 940 3.2Ghz i can overclock to 4.0ghz and go to desktop the minute i load over 60-70% it turns off no message nothing sometimes it would shutdown and 2 seconds later restart the board allows 533/633mhz and 800mhz (OC) my RAM is 800mhz stock so i think it overclocks it self to 800MHZ when i load defaults. Anyways has anyone got any experiences with this type of board thanks in advance

Could you post your voltage settings and more BIOS setting to see if there is a problem anywhere in there.
