Default Asus Maximus II Formula VS Gigabyte P45 UD3P

Been hearing a lot of good about the GB board, but looking at the prices, the Asus board is almost double the price.

Just wanting to know what the performance difference is IRL.

The Gigabyte board out performs the Maximus II Formula in both dual core and quad core OCing. I would recommend picking up the Gigabyte board. It is the best OCing 775 board to ever hit the market.

The Gigabyte board has shown to have very efficient cooling, and will run cooler then the ASUS board. Itg has a 2oz layer of copper within the board, which helps with heat.

I just don't understand why the board is so expensive if the ep45 is so much cheaper.

My friends father owns the ud3p and it runs very cool and is a great oc'er but i'm about to land an asus board, i'll see how it compares.

Like anything, you are paying a premium for the name. The Maximus II Formula is a Republic of Gamer (ROG) board, and therefore costs a premium. The UD3 series Gigabyte boards are better OCers and run cooler. The UD3P is def a better investment.
