On a board with Nvidia chipset divider 1:1 is very good but not that good on a board with Intel chipset, why, I don´t no in detail but Nvidia have found a way to bring down the MCH Read Delay (tRD) better then Intel. On a board with Intel chipset on the other hand any divider other then 1:1 is better because one can run lower tRD on the other dividers (6:5, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 8:5, 5:3, and 2:1) and Intel chipset just love high ram MHz. Here´s some interesting articles about it, this one and this one.

Look at his system specs. It says 40*C load, 20*C idle. http://www.overclock.net/system.php?i=38047

The squirrel said 1066Mhz vs 975Mhz. The squirrel has bad math. But unlinked you could use his 1:1 divider (ratio?). Then maybe tweak from there. Ask did he use the same timings? No he didn't. Open your eyes? You trust a squirrel drinking a Guinness? To make clear you can Consider?

. I was just wondering what the rules are with overclocking and running unlinked and since there doesn't really seem to be anything special I guess my question is answered.

I know it's slighty off topic but can you do me a favor and run Intel Burn Test (Click Here) and show me your CPU temps with HWMonitor (Click Here).
Use "Maximum" setting for 5 passes.
