I was thinking of getting this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186146 for my new build including my XFX9800GT, 550W PSU, OCZ Platinum DDR2-800 RAM, and the E6420 I plan to buy. Will this board work well or should I spend a tad bit more and get something a little better?

That's a very cheap board. I'll give it some credit as it's a Foxconn, but you if plan to OC, you should probably drop a bit more cash into the board. If you want a good overclocker that's cheap, check out the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. I have one here at work. There's a reason it's so popular...

G31 is P31 without IGP. P31 is trimmed version of P35. Since you have old 65nm e6420, it should be fine. What's the budget? Maybe members can find a good one for you within your budget.

I am trying to keep it below $75
I will be doing some overclocking but probably not over 3GHz I may also want to throw my E5200 into it later so 45nm technology may be usefull.

If not the Gigabyte above, here is a the Asus P43 version. Both are very similar. Asus boards are wonderful for Bios features and OC as is the Gigabyte above. Stay away from Foxconn and AsRock. My 2 cents worth. You will have quality and wonderful Bios features with either board. (Gigabyte or Asus)

looks like that ASUS might just do the trick. I have an ASUS board in my current rig and have no problems at all other than no voltage adjustments for CPU and RAM. I might just go with that one, but whats the deal with all the PCI-E x 1 slots on full ATX mobos?

or I think this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131347R
better price, still P45 chipset, but will the 1066 memory standard hurt me using 800 Ram?
