SIgh....The worse part is i actually did all that trying to get the 4890 to fit my NSK 2480 (its a snug fit)
__________________Soooo trying all the ram didnt work, should i just disassemble everything reset cmos bios and put everything back again? Can the battery be dead? Its very new...couple months old. Also, everything was working fine until the addition of the 4890. But now it doesnt seem to work even with or without the card....quite a nuissance. I only have one PCIE x16 btw

Oh btw, there were 2 incidents of the bios booting and saying that my overclocking attempt has failed, i either reload the old bios or go into setup....

It sounds to me now that you have a dead battery... Once I looked up the nvram problem I had a hunch that even if you pulled your card like I suggested it still woouldnt work. So I think we eliminated the card a this point. go buy a new battery if you can at kmart etc. and try that. Other than that it sounds like you may have fried a bios chip or something like that? Dosent sound good if you cant get past that screen but I am confused as you seem to get into bios right?

Sorry, so any battery of the same sort would be enough for me to restart things? I just tried RAM swapping and to no avail. Again, the bios setup picks up everything ie it can detect everything i put in or pull out but it wont go past the checking NVRAM section. And no it doesn't hang per say as i can still press Ctrl Alt Delete. My bios seems to work fine and never had any problems going into it on startup if i press "del" could i have damaged the NVRAM if there is such a chip. As i did say i was quite rough in trying to fit my 4890.
