Hi guys,
__________________I would like to seek the forum's expert advice. I bought and built my pc from scratch and the last component was the graphics card (Sapphire 4890 Toxic) All was fine and when i plugged it into the motherboard, i keep getting the "checking NVRAM" which just stays there forever. I have not iverclocked my pc and the temps are fine considering this hot summer Uk weather. I tried to unplug the graphics card and the same message occured. I have throughly checked all the connections and i have NO ide drives. My sig is my specs. Once again, everything was fine until i tried to install the graphics card today. I might have been a bit rough while trying to fit the card into my case while very lightly knocking on the side chasis to fit the 8 pin power supply point. Anyone have any ideas/ similar experiece or any heads up on what i should do? Much obliged.

Just disabled internal graphics mode as awell as put graphics adapter as PCI/PEg as oppose to PEG/PCI but to no avail as well.

I dont think you should change the PCI/peg part But i am not sure I think the pci part means an old school pci chraphics card... not a pci ex16 card.. but I may be mistaken

Did you clear the cmos? that is probably important at this point. That resets all your bios settings. I would also try one stick of ram and alternate one stick and try it in different ram slots before I'd give up.

Forgot to mention, it doesn't actually hang at "Checking NVRAM" it just doesn't progress. At the checking NVRAM, my PS2 keyboard is still functioning and i can press Ctrl Alt Del no probs.
__________________Also, on the bios everything is showing up fine (as was before the CMOS reset even) It is also showing the right ammount of ram each time and i have tried to play around with the ram as well. Any other ideas?

i would seriously put one stick of memory in and move it around then swap sticks etc. if not try memtest in dos. Just to be sure try and boot back up without the card to make sure it can be done etc.

NVRAM is basically where the onboard time and date etc is kept and googling is bringing up a lot of reseat your memory and pull the cmos battery out and reseat it. I would try the card in a different pcie16 slot if you have them too. I personally would dissassemble everything ang reassemble it carefully when i get to points like this ..
