Here is my problem. I have an old family comp that the kids use. Recently, I got the dreaded BSOD, and now I get nothing on the screen. Everything seems to be powering up nicely, but it doesn't even boot.
__________________The processor is and old 540J Pentium and the mobo is a P5GV-MX Asus......... Since it was my kids comp, I took the overclock back to stock some time ago. Could it be the motherboard? and if so, could someone link me to one I could buy? Thanks

try to reset the cmos on the board first that may solve it. And there are other things you can try before giving up, maybe a stick of ram went bad so you can take them out but one and try all the sticks etc. and maybe a ram slot went bad so try moving them into different slots one at a time etc.

Did you recently install any new hardware? Update any drivers? Anyway you can get the error code off the blue screen?

That is correct, sir.

You did take the battery out off the motherboard with it unplugged resetting the cmos?
