Don't do it. For the love of your rig, please don't do it. For some reason, everyone has been deceived into thinking that it's a good idea to reduce or eliminate, or even reverse vdroop. Based on what I learned from the AnandTech article excerpt below (a 2-page section of quite a long article), I will be trying to undo my vdroop pencil mod to stop the possible damage that might be being caused by not having any vdroop.

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...spx?i=3184&p=5

So please: pass this information on when the opportunity arises. Vdroop is there for a very specific reason. Don't try to reduce it or elminate it.

I'm willing to sacrifice this processor......its not worth very much. but asside from that i don't want to completely eliminate the vdroop just reduce it........my board has a tremendous amount of vdroop which can cause instability when i OC.

1.44v in bios. 1.37v idle. 1.30 under full load...lots of heat generated just at idle.....

So after reading those two pages of that article, you're still willing to see if there's a way to at least reduce the vdroop with this motherboard?

I know the CPU isn't worth very much, but as you saw: vdroop is by design.
