Guys,
My new computer is only 1 day old in my house After doing some windows updates, on reboot the screen stopped at the first boot screen. After a reboot it only went one line more. My board is the Gigabyte Extreme and had 2 ssd in raid 0 as boot drives. Eventually I hit the clear CMOS button on the back of the computer. Upon rebooting I got the gigabyte screen. I went into Bios but noticed nothing that stood out. when I booted again I noticed I had lost the raid info that use to be there and then after the Veriying DMI Pool Data I get a "missing operating system" and she stops there. I set the boot sequence to boot from DVD but it still gives the no operating system screen with windos in the drive. So much for a night of hi-res gaming Any help appretiated. Anyone in canberra wants to earn a six pack who knows how to fix and can visit tommow?? Paul... |

You cleared the CMOS. Getting rid of the RAID info. Nice going.
Take the SSDs out and keep the Windows DVD in the drive and see if it still doesn't force it to boot off of there. Are you sure that DVD drive still works? Try a different SATA port on the motherboard for the DVD drive. Can you boot off of a Flash Drive? You can install Windows XP or Windows 7 off of one. Also, fill in your System Specifications in your User Control Panel: http://www.overclock.net/usercp.php It's on the sidebar on the left. Go down until you see entries with the word System in it.
