I'd say so, I love my Rampage Formula.

I suggest that you wait a bit longer and save up for an i7 rig though. The 775 socket will never be able to perform as good as a 1366.

*edit* The Foxconn runs on DDR3.

I may be looking at getting this board as well. Just two questions, will a TRUE (with two Ultra Kazes in push/pull) fit vertically in it? And will a PERC 5/i work fine in it?

I've tried pretty much every X48 board (with the exception of DFI and Foxconn, the former because I have had nothing but bad experiences with DFI in the past and the latter due to limited availability).

With that said, the Asus Rampage Formula and Asus Rampage Extreme are pretty much the best X48 boards. I've gone above 500 FSB with quads on both boards.

Also regarding the Gigabyte DQ6 (which I have owned), its decent but I could never hit 500 FSB with either a Q9550 or a Q9650.

@Ryanb213

Push bus 500 with a 45nm quad is possible with the Rampage but I donīt recommend it for a 24/7 setup, to much voltage to be comfortable with in my opinion.

Bus ~470 with Q9550 + 8Gb memory + CrossFire (I think that you gonna run), well, it gonna put a lot of strain on that subsystem so you got a lot of tweaking a head of you to make that stable.

If you go for the Rampage Formula, I suggest to at least replace the TIM on the NB and SB, because that NB get hot during load and may get unstable with it, even better is to go for a third party cooler like Thermalright HR-05 + fan for the NB and a Enzotech, SLF-1 or CNB-S1L for the SB.

A option if you want stay with LGA 775 and DDR2 is the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P (yes, itīs only PCIe x8 in CrossFire but I donīt think you gonna loose that much compare to x16), the EP45 do bus 500 with a 45nm quad rather easy and with relative low voltage suitable for 24/7 setup.

Or save some more money and go for i7 or i5, both got SLI and CrossFire support (X58 PCIe x16, P55 PCIe x8 in SLI or CrossFire), yes, you need some DDR3 but they are rather cheap these days, some 3x2 or 2x2 1600C7 should be fine
