Default Asus P5QL-E + Asus software = nvlddmkm errors

Hiya,

I been getting nvlddmkm errors since i bought my computer , at the time i brought it back to the computershop saying i was getting those errors and that the shoud fix it, they fixed it for me at the time.

nvlddmkm errors means that the videocard stops responding and hangs (blackscreens) for a few seconds and than recovers again, its build into windows vista this recovery.

Anyways the computershop fixed the problem by installing a new graphics card , new memory and they changed the settings of the ASUS software somehow. Its the EPU-6 and AI suite software.

It ran fine for over 6 months, untill yesterday... my computer was going into AI sleep mode after a few hours and i desided that i shoud try turn this off (i never noticed it before).

Inside AI suite i clicked on the middle button, i think it said normal mode, it required a reboot.. and BAM the problem is back! im getting the nvlddmkm errors again constantly, it worked fine for 6 months untill i clicked on something in the asus software.

So its very clear that there is a issue with the asus software, the AI suite v1.05.22 that came with my motherboard is crashing my video.

I woud like to know what the computershop did to fix it but its way in germany and from what i can tell they did a lott of unessecary hardware replacements because its the asus software thats the whole cause...

Anyone know what can be causing this? what setting i need to change in the AI suite? or has anyone ever got nvlddmkm errors and traced it origins back to the asus software like i did?

I've never gotten those errors but I think you should uninstall Six Engine... It's caused more grief than the energy savings are worth for me. Try and see if that fixes it. BTW, Six Engine is separate from the AI Suite (kinda) so you won't need to uninstall AI Suite, just Six Engine.
