I'm trying to set my NB voltage to the recommended specs as provided by G.Skill except i have no idea (yes ive tried searching) what the default NB voltage is. My mobo just gives me voltage increase levels in the settings, it doesnt tell me what the overall voltage will be...

What? So your BIOS doesn't tell you what the NB voltage is and lets you blindly increase it?

Hey, I responded to your last post, so check it out. It's about your bios options.
Also, just increase the NB volts up below the red. Even one notch into the red or so should be fine as long as you have good cooling. But I don't know how much you need to be stable. Just bump the volts up about two notches, and if you need more then go for more. Anything under the red is fine. edit: Oh yeah, I think the (M.I.T.) you just increase like +.1 or something, but it should say the actual voltages in the hardware monitering part or somewhere in the bios. If I was at my moms house I could check but I forgot. sorry.

You can check your NB voltage in Windows using Everest. Everest is telling me that my NB voltage is currently 1.1v ... That seems a little low. Download Everest and see what it tells you.

ok i adjusted it up 2 notches and it seems to have solved my bugs. no more bsods or hangs. its currently at 1.25v. G.Skill recommends 1.4-1.5v for my RAM. but it seems ok atm. ill see how it goes...

1.4v is fine for your NB as long as there is some kind of heatsink attached to it. If 1.25v isn't stable don't be afraid to kick it up a few more notches.

Sweet, 8gb is stressful on the NB so I am not surprised. You seem to have found the cause of the instability. Great!
edit: you should you prime95 "large ffts" to stress North Bridge stability to see what voltages are stable.

Yeah, I think your ram is just fine. Of course you needed to increase the NB volts because all of your dims are full, with an awesome 8gb of ram. That is why you have that option in the bios.
Happy you solved the problem.
