Not at all, in fact trying to run at 2GHz would require crazy volts on your i7. Instead, run them @ 1600 but with tighter timings.

But isn't it a bad thing that the Bloodrage only supports 3 sticks of RAM?

It's hard to stretch what's allowed with 6GB, really, unless you're a hard-core multitasker. I don't see myself doubling that anytime soon, if ever.

And what makes you believe that in time you will need more than 12GB of ram.. you will still be on i7 platform?
I'm trying to tell that it unsure to say what will be done in the future. For the current setups <= 12GB of ram is ok for the majority of us.

The good thing now. If you need more than that.. there are other products in the market as good as the bloodrage (but way more expensive) that can get more RAM.

Just went and no issues getting to the technical inquire online form, first step to do an RMA. It's a great board that overclocks very easy, IMO. If you want it to compete with the Classified you will need to do the PCIe mod, PITA to do and only needed if you want over 220Bclk. At $250 or less, nothing really competes with it.
