Now with that said, any x58 board should be able to get you 4Ghz - 4.2Ghz out of a D0 stepping I7 920 CPU, even the Intel crap board. It will depend on the cooling you decide to go with, stock will take you up to 3.3Ghz - 3.4Ghz, good to great air cooler will take you up to 4Ghz and water cooling could get you up to 4.4Ghz. You are probably not going to notice the difference between 3.6Ghz and 4.2Ghz with daily web surfing and game play, if however you plan on doing video editing then the extra horsepower could come in handy.

Now from a warranty standpoint and tech support I would say Asus first and EVGA second. Why? Because with EVGA they charge for crossshipping, you have to register within 30 days and you have to upload your receipt. With Asus, you do not need any of that. Does registering the product make getting service easier? Sure does, but it's not required. The Asus will come with a 3 year warranty while EVGA will come with a lifetime warranty assuming it is registered within the first 30 days. If you plan on having the board longer than three years then EVGA would be the choice.
I never had to upload my receipt, and you don't have to choose cross-shipping, it's just an extra benefit that EVGA offers.

I came up with the
EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard

I highly doubt you'd be unhappy with it, and you won't be paying $400+
The LE version does not come with a lifetime warranty unfortunately.

I personally chose the 132-BL-E758-A1 because it had plenty of features along with the lifetime warranty. Not as many features as the classified, but I would never use half of what the classified has to offer anyway

Your getting a bunch of irrelevant answers because everyone here has their own favorite board.

Choose a board that meets YOUR needs, price and functionality.

1) Do you NEED a gagillion USB ports?

2) Do you NEED 2x/3x/4x PCI-E x16?

3) Do you NEED 10 SATA ports?

4) SATA port placement?

5) PCI, PCI-E x1 and x4 slot placement?

6) Do you NEED a IDE port? (for older optical drives)

7) Do you NEED a FDD port? (for floppy, WinXP)

Ask yourself these questions instead of taking other people's advice.

Search the top 5 mobo makers (Asus, Gigabyte, Intel - not in that order) to find the board that suits YOUR NEEDS.

He's right, you're going to have to do some reading to figure out what features are good for you.

Yea that is what i said in my post..........

I don't get why you didn't have to upload a receipt with evga unless you bought a product or did the step up program with them maybe?

If you didn't do any of those you will have to give them a copy or upload it. If evga would let you transfer warranties it would be the best step they could do.

Well put. My 920 is currently restricted by temperature but I can't justify the cost of the additional cooling for the benefits I would gain from the added clock rate.

I know for a fact that EVGA will not do an RMA for any item unless you can show proof you are the original owner and got it from a legitimate retailer, the only exception is if you do the step-up since you already uploaded your receipt. As far as cross shipping goes, EVGA charges an additional $30 up front during registration for that privilege, Asus does not.

The E760 version has no real advantage. The downside to the E759 is the NF200 adds heat to the chipset area... thats all lol
thats when you get the block for it
