For the past months I have encountered severe instability issues, which are usually shown in the form of application errors after a substantial amount of system up-time. Memtest and Orthos run perfectly fine for 10+ hours without a single error, however, at a certain point, which is usually around 1-2 days of system up-time, applications errors start to occur and after rebooting, Memtest will start returning hundreds of errors after only 30 seconds of testing.
System: Asus Striker II Formula Intel Core2Duo E8500 4x 2GB Corsair Dominator 1066 Thermaltake ToughPower 650W I have replaced most components, except the CPU, over the last couple of months as the issues seemed to be hardware related. I previously used an Asus P5N-T Deluxe with 2 x 1GB Corsair Dominator 1066, running smoothly. After upgrading to 4GB, I encountered this issue. Temperature, memory timings and voltages are all set to what they should be; although I have tried northbridge increases from 1.2V all the way up to 1.64V without success. Please note that overheating is not the issue, and the only component I have not exchanged is the CPU because I do not believe this problem is related to a faulty CPU (it has never been overclocked heavily, cooling on it is good and it is not even a year old). The only setting I have not adjusted is the GTLREF as I am not experienced with it at all. Now, my primary goal isn't overclocking, but getting my system to 100% stability. So my question is the following, what do you think the problem causing this instability is, and what settings would you recommend? - Please remember that the system is not even stable at default clocks at either default or increased voltages. I appreciate any suggestions you may have, because frankly, I am at the point at which I simply do not understand the roots of this problem anymore. Edit: Last and only thing left to test is being done right now, fans unplugged from the board and connected directly to the PSU. Last edited by Sapph1re : 3 Weeks Ago at 02:05 AM |

Right, I'm just sick of nForce 780 and regret wasting this amount of time on it just because my previous experience with the nForce 4 and similar were amazing.
I decided to go for an Intel chipset and preferably a Gigabyte board, any suggestions? |
