Unhappy Asus P6T Deluxe V2, no power, won't boot, help please

OK, well, my computer just went to sleep, and I go over to it to wake it up by clicking the mouse and nothing. The power/reset buttons on the motherboards aren't lit up as well as anything else on the board. It's like the board just died...no power going to it whatsoever. This is a new problem as the board has never had an issue with waking up from hibernation. I just flashed my bios a day or two ago to the newest version, but it's woke up fine every time since then except this time. This build is practically brand new -- just finished it 2 months ago roughly, if that. Tried resetting the cmos and nothing -- considering the power/reset leds aren't lit up that probably wouldn't work anyway. I'm completely baffled. Any ideas?

Prime95 stable for 12 hours with my overclock and all 3 sticks of ram have passed over 20 runs of memtest on 2 different occasions.

Express Gate disabled.

Thanks for any suggestions.

No boot at all? Must be power supply. Try placing a jumper between the green and a black wire on the 24-pin connector and see if the power supply turns on at all.

Seems weird that a practically brand new Corsair power supply would go bad like that when it's been working perfectly fine. I'll try this and see what happens though.

EDIT: Should I unplug everything that's plugged into my power supply before doing this, ie: 8 pin power on motherboard, video card, case fans, etc?

Nope, and that little test will just remove your case's power button from the equation and let you know if it's working correctly.

The only way to really test a power supply is under load with a multimeter or a PS swap.

Alright, well I just ordered one of these nifty little gadgets because I didn't really trust the paper clip option and was having a hell of a time trying to bend it correctly.

First off, that's an old style 20 pin connector and most new MBs use a 24 pin connector.

Second off, why are you buying that thing?

Just try this if you want to jump start the PS.

It won't hurt ya none!

I thought you were just gonna jumper the MB's pins.

Sorry, I thought the case lights were working.

Sorry Pillz...this is what I get when I'm on too many forums at one time.

Dude the paper clip test is only gonna cost you about .001 cents and bending a paper clip is easy just stick one end in the green socket and the other end in any black socket. Then you'll know it it is working!

Alright, I just tried it. Stuck the paperclip in the green socket and the other end into a black socket and nothing. So my $180 power supply just magically died on me huh?

Yep, dead. RMA time!

Lets hope your U$290 CPU didn't die too. Just kidding, it'll probably be alright, overvolt/current protection must've kicked in.
