you need the waterblock, its like almost mandatory

the X4 is actually a beast, it out OCs the first classified. plus the straight up PCIe lanes are sexy. but i mean its not practical, some people still use PCI, i dont but some do.

anyone else notice this...

Well I recently got my Classified 760 and I have to agree with the OP that it is the best board I have ever used. As you said before the 760 is significantly cooler than the 759 since there is no NF200 chip, so I really can't see the need to W/C the 760 much. All the NB does on the X58 chipset is support PCIe so I guess if you run multi GPUs and such then W/C would have more of an impact.

I did get my board stable at 4.2 GHz running my ram above stock speed so I am super ecstatic. The power delivery is clean, and overall the board is just well put together and EVGA has some amazing service. I think I might be an EVGA fanboy now, lol!

I've never had heat issues with my 759... 3, PCI-E x16 make the NF200 worth the slightly warmer chip. The board is certainly the most futureproof you can buy.
