Help me to 5GHz!
Hey.
 I just got the CPU in my sig rig, it's awesome, but I wanna validate at 5GHz, just for fun. I can do 4.5GHz at ~1.32V, but I can't boot in at 526 FSB (5GHz) at all, so I call on you, OCN for help. My important BIOS settings are: FSB Strap: 266 RAS to RAS timings: 5 Row Refresh: 60 DRAM Static: Disabled AI Clock Twister: Strong My voltage settings are: Vcore: 1.44V NB: 1.53V LLC: Disabled CPU GTL: 0.63 NB GTL: 0.67 RAM is running at 5-5-5-15 with 2.2V. If anyone could help me get higher, I'd love their help. Thanks. PS. Would using an FSB Adjuster in Windows work? I tried Set FSB and ClockGen, but neither seemed to work for my motherboard.

I think you will be board limited. Not many boards like doing 500+ FSB. Also the X38 chipset does not overclock nearly as well as P35 or better yet P45. In order to get 5 GHz on that chip your going to need that Gigabyte P45 crazy good overclocking mobo, whichever one that is. Plus with that you still might not be able to get there even with water or cold air, you might need something colder. Probably will need at least a Phase Unit to do it.

i suggest enabling LLC and increasing the FSB strap.
