Default Problems with XFX 680i SLI board

I got a replacement motherboard for the faulty Asus P5NE (USB and On Board Ethernet dieing), problem is after building my pc up with the new board I cant boot, Ive spent all last night and most of today trying stuff, I'm now on a ****ty little P4 my uncle lent me. Thank god for the internet.

My set up is the same just replace my motherboard obviously.

I am getting really irritated with this string of bad luck I have been having this past month, someone really doesn't like me

Thankyou in advance, Ill try and answer any questions.

Have you tried to boot this outside the box with one stick of ram and video card?

My experience with NVIDIA chipset boards have been about the same as yours. I went through 2 ASUS NVIDIA boards, then 5 eVGA NVIDIA boards before finally giving up on the 600i and 700i chipset and moving to Intel.

Had another crack at it since I dont like giving up.

Reset CMOS took battery out and all that and booted it out of the case with just one stick of ram, DVD rom, 1 hard drive and the graphics card, and guess what it booted did a fresh install of XP, while I wait for 7 and did like 20 restarts. On the 10th I added my other stick of ram to put it back up to 4gb and it works.

I hope it holds out, I have read really bad things about the 680i boards so I am hoping this is the last of my problems. All there Is left to do now is get a Quad in the new year. I was thinking about the Q6600, old I know but its such a cracking chip get the baby up to 3ghz and Ill be happy until my next build in about a year.

Thanks again rep to all.
