Intel Overclocker
![]() |
This is an interesting topic which I've spent a lot of time researching and inspecting. The conclusion is the only way to OC those systems is by software. But the use of softwares is somewhat flawed. Let's see if someone can post up any results?

I just made a new computer(actually cuztomized it at my local PC builder) and its obviously a Conroe or Allendale whatever you wanna call it, anyways here's my specs:
__________________Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Intel D965LCK Motherboard 2GB 5300 DDR2 (2x1GB) RAM 320GB SATA2 Hard Drive Antec TX1050 Chassis 16X DVD ROM Lite-On 16X DL DVD+/-RW Lightscribe Drive 256MB PNY nVidia 7600GT Video Card Linksys WLS G PCI Card 22-in-1 Media Reader Hauppauge WINTV PVR150MCE MS Windows MCE 2005 I know half the stuff on this list don't matter to any of you. But anyways, being an experieced OC'er (but never sharing it on forums) I will overclock everything and anything safely possible in my system with standard cooling (this would be a stock HSF from Intel on the E6300, and a 120mm Antec fan included in the case). I also have been fortunate to get my hands on an Asus P5B deluxe, so I will overclock on both of these mobos and share the results asap. One more thing, I will do NO HARDWARE MODS on the motherboards, just any software or BIOS application. In the end we will find out if Intel mobos really are OCable.

The new Dell XPS 700 comes with an unlocked bios
... but IMO if you're going to spend 3,000 dollars on a computer don't get a Dell ![]() http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/17/d...p-overclocked/ "According to company spokesperson Liem Nguyen, although 'Dell has unlocked the BIOS so that customers can overclock the processor themselves...at this time Dell is not factory overclocking the system.'"

and NoAffinity, thank you for your nice post, and i have been using clockgen for a long time, it is absolutely one of the best oc software out there. But i guess the reason many ppl still like Intel Mbs is because their quality and realiability.
And please let me know if anyone oc or know how to oc the new DG965Wh board. |

I just registered to offer you guys some hope. I only read the first few posts in the thread. I bought my first pc in August 2004. It was a crappy little Compaq Presario SR1103WM. Started out as 2.53CeleronD 256mb memory 40gb hard drive. Today with only the original mobo from the Compaq it is 2.8 Prescott P4 overclocked to 3.2ghz (stable with a little help from the coolermaster jet 4). 2gb memory and 600gb via 2 hard drives. I used GlockGen. I don't want to go into the details but just play with it at your own risk if you want. It worked for me. However I do plan to move up to a dual core system at tax time.

Small note to you people that have recently posted on this thread about intel mb being OC'able.
__________________If you haven't noticed, this thread is well over a year old. While newer intel boards & cpu's are more OC friendly, it wasn't that way in the past. Intel has actually unlocked their most expensive chips, while the middle chips have i believe the multiplier locked. So, yes, maybe your new system can overclock, but that wasn't the case when this thread was made.

Hmmm my cousine had a e-machines ( yes i have no idea why he bought it, but hey he doesnt overclock anyways
) ... so one of the times my comp was down i desided to see what those idiots from e-machinese put in there... Got a CPU-Z and looked at the bios settings and the board... Board is some Intel and BIOS i think its written by e-machines themselfs... I think ( I might be mistaken though ) the possible solution would be flash the BIOS down the toilet ) or Intel BIOS that is supported but still offers some options???P.S. But anyways morale is : Don't by computers that are build for you by some idiots P.S.2 How do you overclock through the software? P.S.3 Off-topic => Is there possiblity to clock VGA not through software (aka keep em clocked after reboot???)?? Walk Tall everyone...
