Default high temps?

i just put in a p5wd2e prem with a 955 xtream and pc probe is telling me my idea temps are 40c thats way to high. i just took out a p5n32sli deluxe and 100% load after 128hours was a chilly 30c. i have reseated the heatsink and done it 1000's of time before so i know about all that. could it be a diiferance in the boards probes location or calibration? just seems 20c is way to big a differance. i would take a 3-4c +- but this is to much.
also i have a 840d at 3.7ghz and it runs around 60c witha zalman cooler. thats to high too. could my house just be to hot??

Your temps are still within acceptable limits. Where are you getting the idea that 40c and 60c are too high?

I would tend to think so.
My MSI board was replace with the same board and even reseating HS 3 times after replacing and found that the 2 different same boards had a 6c difference.
I was a little
But oh well, such is life!

Well you are still in the safe zone with the temps When you installed something new such as a HSF you may have knocked the Temp probe causing it to misread..it happens sometimes.

Yes, but he is using water cooling, right remy?

I get 43c idle temps on mine with air.

I just don't know how a board could make that much difference.

right. its in the specs. does anyone have a idea where excatly on the board or under the chip or where ever they put them. heres a thought... could they just caculate the temps using amps draw and volts and resistance from the heat?? cause a thermal resistor works using the resistance caused by heat in a wire and the change in voltage it makes. c my volts are up from 1.22 to 1.42vcore using the auto setting also. ill try setting the voltage lower and see if that helps.

My probe from my stock mobo worked great the first day but after that it kept saying that all of my fans are below threshold.... well at 0 .. and they are working fine.
