Default RAM higher than mobo reccomendation?

Hey guys, quick question to learn once and for all.

I'm getting the Asus A8N32-SLi mobo. Will OC, not tons but enough to squeeze some more juice out of my cpu and junk but that's besides the point.

All mobos I've seen say they support up to PC3200 RAM. Bottom line:

Can you use higher RAM than the mobo is "rated" for?

Someone told me it's a reccomendation and doesn't apply at all, but can using faster RAM cause any unstability at all?

I want to get:

OCZ 2GB PC4000 Gold Gamer eXtreme XTC Edition Dual Channel DDR Kit (2 x 1GB)

Will this be safe on the A8N32-SLi? Thanks guys! And if someone could actually explain the whole thing, that'll help the learning experience and may be beneficial to others as well.

Yes it will work. You will need to set the FSB to 250*10 and the memory clk to 200MHz. This will give you a 2.5GHz CPU and RAM running at DDR500 (stock for that RAM). You will not have to change the DIMM voltage from auto and you might raise the CPU vcore to 1.425 maybe. Good choice mi amigo.

all right, thanks for the advice. So I just basically have to raise the maximum supported speed in the BIOS to accomodate?

That will be uber-fast RAM, playin' FEAR at highest settings with hardly any lag

The timing stock is 3-4-3-8. Now I'm not an expert, but I think that's fairly good. I would like to get that 8 down to 6 though.
