Hey,
I have a MSI 865PE NEO2-P motherboard with a Intel 2.6GHz HT CPU (socket 478) and 1GB Geil Ram. When I OC my CPU in anyway above a bus speed of 223MHz in Bios the Sound will be disabled in the POST screen and in windows. Also MSI has CORE CENTER which OcerClocks in Windows...I can bump up my bus speed in windows and watch it take effect. I opened media player and started playing an .mp3 file and started to increase the Bus Speed. As I did the sound got degraded and then finally got so bad I couldnt make anything out and then Quit completely. What is the deal with this!?!?! Anyone?? MSI Thanks, Roger |

Welcome to the forums.
![]() Try locking your PCI bus at 33.3 MHz if that's an available option. If it's not, your OC will be severely limited.

I'm not sure what could be causing the issue? Try updating the bios via MSI. You should really get a sound card. The on board sucks away performance and resources you need to O/C. As for O/Cing. You should clock via the bios and then set the Core center to the same specs you clock in the bios. Not having them match will fluctuate the clock cycles back and forth. Which in turn makes for a unstable O/C. Also disable of Spectrum via bios in chip set options. An unstable clock could be your issue If i was at home i could remeber the rest. ((stuck at work))
