being totally n00bish I set my bios to optimized defaults and now my memory bus is set back to 200mhz when it was 266mhz previously. I have tried every possible way to set it back but can't seem to get it right.
__________________before ( with cpu throttling set ) at idle: CPU Speed: CPU Clock 2794.81 MHz (original: 3400 MHz) CPU Multiplier 14.0x CPU FSB 199.63 MHz (original: 200 MHz) Memory Bus 266.17 MHz Now: CPU Speed: CPU Clock 2794.81 MHz (original: 3400MHz) CPU Multiplier 14.0x CPU FSB 200.02 MHz (original 200 MHz) Memory Bus 200.02 MHz I set up a few profiles in the bios trying different settings to get the memory bus back up to 266 MHz but can't seem to get it. I set it to user define, leave the FSB at 200 MHz, then I have tried auto speed on the DRAM, I have tried locking it to DDR2-533. I tried several combinations of these things but the memory bus always comes back to 200 MHz. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I set the NB strap to 266/1066 and still the same. you can see the memory timings are 266 MHz 4-4-4-12, and although its reading the 200 MHz my timings are 4-4-4-12.

Your CPU is running the same speeds as mine. Least now I know im not the only one with a 199.63Mhz FSB.

What are your temps? I would be more worried about your CPU underclocking than your RAM speed at the moment.
__________________There's something wrong there, if it's a 3.4Ghz CPU, then the stock setting should be 200FSBx17 multi = 3400, or 3.4Ghz. It sounds like the CPU is too hot and is throttling.
