ASUS P4S8X-MX board (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131546)
and P4 2.8ghz 512/800 Chip It's running like 1.8 default, and there's no place to change the Multiplier in the bio. I can boost the CPU frequency, it seems to be the only option I have. If I boost this to 200 it will run the 2.8ghz but should the frequency be that high? Thx for any help u can offer Last edited by joker12578 : 04-11-06 at 04:52 AM |

The multipliers are locked on almost all Intel CPUs. Enginerring Sample CPUs can change the mulit, as can XEs IIRC. However, I am confused by what you are saying. Your FSB should be 200 (it is quad pumped to 800) and that is where you run at your stock speed of 2.8Ghz (14x200=2800). At 200 you are not boosting anything, you are running stock. Hope that helps
