I'm considering switching my second rig to Conroe. Can anyone recommend Asus boards with SLI (dual 16x) that are verified to work with the Conroe processor?

I'll dump a cheap p4 in for now and when the Conroes are available switch out to one of their main line chips. I have a buyer for the AMD 4000+, 2x 512 Corsair RAM and Asus A8N-SLI PRemium board so what I really need is the best motherboard and fastest 2x 1 GB DDR2 RAM and the cheapest P4 chip (probably pick up the D805).

All advice appreciated.

The second link you provided looks like the ticket. 2 16x pci-e slots and very similar desing to my asus a8n32 (8 phase power etc).

None of the above will support Conroe. Asus is coming out with a new board that will.

Edit: Nevermind, i'm dumb. But you can't seem to get the new board anywhere at the moment.

i think this is the only true sli board by Asus. I may be wrong though, i just thought this because all the others dont have the nvidia chipset.

The P5B Deluxe may have dual PCI-e x16 lanes, but it is running off the new Intel 965P chipset and does not support SLI. You will need a board that is using the new nvidia chipset.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't companies just release a BIOS update that will let their boards be compatible with the Conroe? Or does the new architecture need somthing else on the motherboards?

No, the conroe needs less voltage than current socket 775 processors. Some companies will create a revised version of their board (like Intel already did with their 975XBX rev.304 board).
