Default Recommended performance tweaks for mobile computers? (UMPC)

Hey guys, I'm new to the Overclock forums, just wondering if anyone had suggestions as to some tweaks (mostly software wise) I could make to my Sony UX180p (which is a UMPC [Ultra Mobile PC]). It runs pretty damn well considering its size, however I know simply from the Overclock subtitle 'the pursuit performance' that you guys luckily like myself enjoy getting the most out of what we have.

So with that said, if anyone has any helpful tips/hints/tweaks I could make to my UMPC (Running Windows XP) to increase its general performance, it would be much appreciated : D

Also I'd love to see how many UMPC owners are here on the forums : )

You should download a program called "Tune XP" and go through all the steps to optomizing your system.

It helped me out a lot. Boot times dropped at least 10 seconds and HDD access times seem a bit snappier. Works good for me

I don't know if all the tweaks will work for you, but follow these two great guides : 1 and 2

What type of UMPC do you have? OQO, UX, Q1? Other?

The main thing I'm concerned about is if any of these tweaks will effect my batter life. Having a UMPC means having a small battery, and doing everything you can to reduce power consumption (and keep heating down as low as possible)

While were on the topic, anyone have some battery life saving suggestions? : D

if you can turn down the back light on it that will help your battery life a ton.
