Default What could have caused this ?

Well, it's been some time that this laptop has been left out, and I wanted to relive it again, so I opened it and I find it like this :

And this is how it should look like lol ( it's anoter IBM laptop... ) :

I'm just wondering, what could've caused this ? I'm not gonna try to repair it or anything lol, I just want to know if anyone has seen something similar...

Either that was stored in a hot place, or before it was stored a Not Safe For Plastics cleaner was used.

Someone cleaned it with a dissolvant of plastic. Like Acetone (which reminds me of using Acetone on my case window after some friends suggesting me it... they thought it was GLASS and not plexi)

Lol @ gonX !!!

No it's not really like how it looks, in the picture it looks as if it got rubbed by something, but in truth it's perfectly flat, it still "feels" like a normal screen.

But you hardly see anything through, it's as if it was the layer between the external layer and the LCD stuff that's in it that got destroyed...
