Default Alienware wants an arm and a leg for shipping

I put together a m5550 laptop from the alienware website...

I got the 2.0 ghz core 2 duo
X1400 graphics card
1 gb 667mhz ram
WUXGA screen 1920 x 1200 rez
80 gb sata hdd

the price ends up being $1249.99

i don't think its that bad of a deal... especially with that monitor upgrade for only $100...

i went through all the bs about asking if i wanted any of their over priced crap accessories... i didn't select anything, just the computer...

got to the last part about shipping...

only 2 options..

FedEx Ground (3-5) days $99.00
FedEx Second Business Day $188.10

***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

screw FedEx and there over priced POS service!!!!! I am NOT about to pay $99 bucks to ship a damn laptop!!!

this pisses me the F off....

Edit:
Changed the shipping prices... had them wrong in the original post...

As someone who is typing on an Alien that I have had for over a year now (provided from work) - I highly recommend you not purchase an Alien.

We purchased 32 of these about 18 months age 4... only 4 have not had to be sent in for warranty work - that is unnacceptable. And these machines were areound the $4k mark when we bought them.

I compare them to a high-performance car: when they work, they are top of the line, but a lot of their time is spent broken down.

If you want a high-end computer, I would go with Voodoo or something link that, but you can just as easily find a computer by a trusted brand like Asus for less that is easily as reliable. For the money you are spending, it seems worthless to go with a 'super-high-end' company (I put that in quotes because it is a facade for Alien imo).

Alienware = Dell. Just get a Dell. You will probably save money anyways.
