I'm finding it pretty hard to browse laptop coolers for something good. My fiancé has a Toshiba Satellite Pro P100-327 (C2D T7400 @ 2.16GHz, GF 7600 GO, etc) that chucks out quite a bit of heat. It wasn't really a problem for the first few months but is now (in a hot country right now, in the middle of summer)
__________________I expected to find a lot of 17" coolers that used 80, 92 or even 120mm fans, but it is pretty hard to find a 17" cooler, let alone one with these fans. They seem to almost all be 15" and those that are 17" only have 60 - 70mm fans (I really would prefer 80, 92 or 120mm, the standards I am used to) I only found one that uses these fan sizes (120mm in this case) and fits on a 17" laptop, and it looked like an ugly cheap bit of plastic. These fan sizes are not a must but can anyone please suggest a decent cooler?

My dad uses an Antec one, but it barely fits his 15.4" laptop
Try to look for these: Lian Li 17" Cooler Cooler Master NotePal The W1 version, since it is made to fit 15.4"+ Screens (some users say it fits 17" laptops) nvm, it looks like it fits perfectly on 15.4" Laptops: review Hope that helps ![]()

All I can recommend is a piece of wood 6" x 2" x 1" and use this to hold up the back of the laptop, you can have a fan blowing on the bottom, depending on where your intake is. not too beautiful, but it works.

I'm currently using 3 small Tupperware boxes. That takes the laptop down to a state where its incredibly hot but not quite incredibly hot enough to not be able to turn on.
__________________This is the best I can find: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=557925 It is 17" aluminium and it has a usb hub to replace the lost usb port and a power adapter (£5 extra) so that devices that are heavy on the power can still run. However, the fans look pretty pathetic. This one also looks nice and has a fan controller, though no power supply and only 1 usb port to replace the port lost in plugging it in. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=483470 EDIT: Nevermind, just noticed that it's only for 15"

I'm pretty sure you can replace those fans with something better yourself
Or, if you want to take a chance, cut the holes and make them 120mm in size so you can fit at least two of those fans in there. Then you'd get a quiet cool system ![]()
