F12 should be your boot menu, it is on my E1705.

Go into BIOS and under "Boot Options" change the First boot to CD-ROM.

Yep, F12 is the boot menu for Dells. Laptop manufacturers haven't decided on a standard key yet, so they're all different between each of them.

You want to press F12, and then select the cd rom from the boot list.
