Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone can help me.
I'm looking to find a half decent deal on a cheapish laptop that i can use for college.

I need to be able to connect wirelessly to the colleges LAN and i'll be installing XP Pro no matter what it comes with and i'm hoping to be able to run a few games (probably about WoW level requirements).

In terms of spec i'll be wanting a dual core: AMD or Intel doesnt matter at about 1.8+GHz and 2GB of RAM.

I'm in the UK and my budget will be around £250 max


Anyone know any sites i can have a look at because the usual sites i visit have only really got enthusiast laptops.

Anything in that price range is gonna have low end integrated video, aka sucks for games.

it won't be used primarily for games.

I'm talking like WoW on minimum settings.

Just for whenever im bored or something or like quickly checking in-game mail etc

yeah, i just noticed that but the same point applies. Go to a local electronics store that has weekly sales. Buy a laptop that has a cheap duel core and then upgrade the ram to 2.5gb (512 stick plus 2gb stick). That is what I did.

if u dont play games, i would definitely go for intergrated gfx. laptops with gfx cards tend to be a little heavier and if you are student like me, you will be carrying it around a lot!

if i can lug my desktop to LANs i can lug around the extra weight for a laptop :P

i should probably wait and see if some UK people can shed some light on things tomorrow

or today rather lol its half past midnight over here now
