Default Superdrive not super.

So, I was going to install vista via bootcamp on my MBP (Santa Rosa 2.4ghz) and it seems that the MSDN image I have did not work. Upon further consideration I found that I can only burn the image on Dual-Layers and have my "superdrive" read it, this goes for any data also whereas all my other PCs will read DVDrs just fine. Has anyone else here had this problem? It really is sort of annoying.
