Default Laptop sound card...

I need something to replace this crap onboard. Looking for Expresscard 26 pin or firewire or USB. Must be powered by the laptop. I have no problem modding a USB power cord or something, it just can't have a power brick.

Any suggestions? I have no idea where to start.
